How long does the COVID-19 infection last?

Symptoms show up in people within 2 to 14 days of exposure (incubation period). Mostly within 5-7days. A person infected with the coronavirus is contagious to others for up to two days before symptoms appear, and they remain contagious to others for 10 to 20 days. Mostly 7-10 days. 87% of patient recover. Some recover but go on to develop chronic symptoms. This is known as “long covid”
