What are the signs of having pre-eclampsia?

The main signs of pre-eclampsia are a sudden increase in blood pressure and the presence of protein in the urine. It is common for pre-eclampsia to develop after week 20 of gestation. Pre-eclampsia can occur without any noticeable symptoms.
