What causes chronic renal failure?

Chronic renal failure can be caused by conditions that affect the ability of the kidneys to filter the blood. This can be related to blood pressure, or the flow of blood to the kidneys and conditions that affect the health of nephrons, the main filtering unit of the kidney. The main conditions that can affect the kidneys and cause chronic renal failure include hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes.
