When can solid foods be introduced?

Together with breast or bottle-feeding, at around 6 months of age, solid foods can also be introduced into your baby's diet. The exact time to start solids not only depends on your baby's age, but also their ability to sit and support their own head. If your baby has not reached this stage in their development, it can be dangerous to feed them solids as they do not have the coordination to swallow and may inhale food into the lungs.
